These Words

These Words

If my language could speak the inspiring

I’d declare war to the opposing, inflicting

Way people treat one another

And vanish cruelty amongst lovers.

If my thoughts could grow like trees

My leaves would turn the sick, healthy

A growth and knowledge within

Is a power to place hope in

While immersed in the blooming of this flower

The pedals do not quit, no coward

And though the lines do not blur

Among the words of my father

I embrace the world on my own

Traveling this high road

With independence as my euphoria

I still think of ya

Success just needs a spotlight

Like flowers need their sunshine.
